Small Grains
The
Sund Raking Pickup was originally designed by Fred Sund in his Blacksmith
Shop in Newburg North Dakota. It was born out of the necessity to be able to
pick up thin crops in times of short moisture. Also built into the pickup
with the use of the spring steel tooth, and gentle raking action, was the
ability to pick the crop and all the while leave the dirt and rock in the
field where it belongs.
And as the Sund is famous for being able to pick thin crops, it just stands
to reason that it will pick up more of your crop when the swaths are full as
well.
Another unique feature exclusive to Sund in small grains is its ability to
pick up swaths that have settled due to rain, hail or other adverse
conditions. Regardless of how close the grain is to the ground, even if it
has started to sprout, the Sund will pick it, guaranteed. The Sund will even
direct harvest hailed out crop saving growers thousands of bushels that
would otherwise be lost.
Another point we want you to be fully aware of is the fact that you can pick
your crop gently, and all the while have as much forward speed as you need
to keep even the largest of combines working well.
There is no other pickup in this world that is so versatile for the harvest
of small grains, because regardless of the condition of the crop itself, or
the conditions you have to harvest it in, the Sund will always, without
exception, do the job.

Canola
Because
Canola shells so easily, nothing is more important than having a pickup that
is gentle and that is where the Sund Raking Pickup shines. The Sund will
gently lift the canola swath allowing the combine to drive into a virtually
undisturbed crop. This keeps the shelling down to the lowest possible level.
Growers who use a Sund to harvest their canola all say the same thing. "It
works great. The Sund is the only way to go for canola." If you would like
to visit with us to find out more about the advantages of using a Sund in
your canola give us a cal1. Or, if you'd like to speak with another grower
who uses a Sund for his crop, we'll be happy to put you in touch with him so
that you can put your questions directly to a farmer with first hand
experience.

Edible Beans
Finally,
Sund is far and away the leader of the field in bean harvesting. This Sund
20 foot raking pickup is harvesting eight 30-inch bean rows. It gently picks
up the crop with virtually no shelling or cracking. You'll notice how
cleanly it lifts the beans out of the field, allowing almost no dockage for
dirt. It's so good at picking up beans that bean growers now commonly refer
to the Sund as "the bean pickup." The Sund Raking Pickup harvests beans so
well, we're not the only ones making claims about its effectiveness. One
combine promotion we ran across recently claimed: "This combine broke
the
elevator record for a pinto bean sample: 0% splits and 1 % dockage. It's an
outstanding machine." And what do you suppose was attached to the front of
that "outstanding combine?" A Sund Raking Pickup, of course!
